Imperfect Unfair World

This is not an entry to moan or complain bout anything I'm going through...
I was just thinking bout the imperfect world we live in...
Today bout evening time, while i was having dinner before youth...
I saw a little kitten crossing the road...
then, a mercedes juz drove over it...
it struggled.. pain... then died...

Just so simple a death to come to a creature created by God. It just proved that our world is not right anymore. The pain and struglles in africa, india, sri lanka, new orleans, china, indonesia, and even back here - where we hear of people murederd raped tortured, suicides... fathers raping their daughters, mothers dirvocing the father brining pain to the young child... HAVE we become FAMILIAR? have we become ignorant?.. i read so much bad news in the newspaper, it becomes so numb... and we can even be tempted by riches and pleasures of this world..? like being a star in hollyword, or getting an MTV award... the media is so full of that....

and the world became imperfect becoz of sin, and lost its former glory... this situation really help remind me that life isnt about me - it's about my King, and my King says he lives to earn the hearts of man... The heart of my King is your heart... and mine...

Review: Heartbeat - FGA KL Youth Band Rally - "lighthouse"

Well, I found out about a youth rally cum workshop organised by FGA KL together with the Seberang Prai Pastor's Fellowship. Let me stress a point, I went there expecting to be encouraged, and learn something from them. I always had the idea or concept that KL was one step ahead in music, worship and youth ministry.

I guess I was wrong.

I hate to be critical about them - but I was truly disappointed.

First, to dwell on the positive side - I would really like to thank God for the many oppoturnities and LEARNING I have experienced at our church. Thank you to Ps. Chong Leang and Euwye for teaching what worship really means - connecting people to God, and also to the many youth leaders before the present leadership that have been examples in leading worship in spirit and in truth (JoshYeoh, Francis, Esther, YeeLing, Deborah, Anna,EuniceOoi, Eelaine... i hope i did not miss any). I truly appreciate the efforts of all the church leadership to ensure that the youth and it's worship team is heading toward a right direction.

The youth worship team (FGA KL) - hearbeat
Well, on the technical aspect, they can be rated average or "quite good la", they exceled well as individual musicians, but as an overall team they lack the "oneness" of sound and blending. The worship leader (lead vocal) who sang the whole night needs some vocal training - his pronounciation of words sounds weird, and he doesn't sing well. The backups were way better, but i could barely&rarely hear them ('cause PA people claimed the backups were'nt that good) - I wonder what ears the have!!
I felt one of the areas they lacked streght in was the way the attempted to lead others into worship - it felt a little like a typical rock band.. "hey ppl!! wanna see ur hands up tonite" "do u luv jesus.. scream louder?" (in a rock band tune..hehe) Ya, it's fine to say those things, but the crowd did not really respond and it was so, umm.... MTV-Music Canteen like. The team failed to connect with the people, thus leading them in worship did not really worked out.
Anyway, with all these critical negative, I still think they have the potential to improve and head on toward a right track - unless they really wanted to be a rock band. With the right leaders, pastors that would guide them - i believe they can still be a powerful team leading youth in God's presence.

So, i guessed I did learn something - learn from another's mistake.

The preacher, or whatever you may address him as
Just ONE comment - TOTALLY GOOD ORRATOR!!!
BUT WITHOUT SUBSTANCE!!!
The teenage word to decribe it is "crap"... I tried not being critical of him, until the end - "altarcall" seesion - when he sounded like he was begging people to come up to be prayed for. I do not remember Ps. Albert, Ps Chong LEang, even Dr.Yeoh Keat Cheong ever doing that back here... he interpreted scirpture in a super shallow manner... and was just very charismatic... talk too much (TIN KOSONG)

I think the worship team has much potential, but the pastor who preached? I'm not too sure, i think I am a man of little faith in this area... - shall not mention his name

Anyway, i mean no offense to anyone. I really do hope that we will be Christians who build a bridge to connect this world to God, "irresistable influence"...

Behind the man

My condolences to Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi on the demise of his wife, Datin Seri Endon Mahmood.
Today, rarely do we see a leader who stands on intergrity and leads with humility - we are truly blessed to have a prime minister who is one. Many say that behind every great man is a great woman. Truly can we say that Datin Seri Endon has been a pillar of support to our prime minister, and also that her loving heart for the less fortunate have made a difference in many lifes.
